a French corner in the heart of London
part of the world's premier French language
 movement operating around the world.

Individuals

Choose from once a week or twice a week evening classes, daytime classes, two week intensives, and Saturday morning courses. These are all small group classes of people at the same stage of learning and you will find details about these courses and how to join on the scheduled classes page.

Individuals can also book one to one private tuition. Please see bespoke tuition.

Companies

We teach in-company group courses as well as one to one tuition. Such courses are tailored to your requirements. See bespoke tuition for details.

At the Alliance française de Londres

We care that you learn French properly and put a lot of effort into our tuition. It is our expertise and we will take you as far as you want to go using a fully structured syllabus from beginner to fluent. Whether a beginner or advanced, whether for general interest or for specialist needs, the Alliance française de Londres can help you.

All our tutors are native french speakers and properly qualified teachers in teaching French as a foreign language.

We are an official CCIP exam centre (la Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Paris) for general, business, and legal French. But you don't have to sit an exam. You can just learn for fun!

Learn French and you gain access to the people and cultures in the 55 countries that are La Francophonie.

« Le nom lui-même d’Alliance, inventé par les géniaux initiateurs, nous enseigne le respect de l’Autre, de sa personnalité, de sa culture. On n’est jamais un étranger dans une Alliance Française et par voie de conséquence la culture française n’est jamais une culture étrangère imposée par un Etat hégémonique. Elle nous appartient […] et est le moyen privilégié de mieux connaître notre propre culture . »

Sir Edward Tomkins,
President of the Alliance française in the UK, 1976-1998.
