Assessment

Oral test

We only put people together who are at the same level of French and the assessment needs to be supplemented with a test of spoken french. Someone will contact you on receipt of the form.

Unless you have never studied French before or you have studied with us

during the last academic year, you will need to complete a short

test to find the level appropriate to you. Please have a go at the written test below. If you are a complete beginner then just write "complete beginner".

Confirmation

If there is a class at your level at the time you want, we will offer you a place. You can then confirm by paying the course fee. Payments can be made by cheque or credit card.

Elementary	Write a short description of yourself : your character, nationality, family, home and your hobbies .
Intermediate	Write a postcard to a friend, telling them what you have done, seen and appreciated during your holiday .
Advanced	With the help of the following questions, write a short text: What kind of traveller are you ? Are you an independent
	traveller or do you prefer to buy package holidays with accommodation, food and tours organised for you ?
	Do you prefer to travel far away or do you stay within Europe or the UK ?

Terms & Conditions for Alliance Française Scheduled Classes in London

Payment:
Payment must be received in full before attending classes. Alliance française de Londres does not accept payment by instalments.

Cancellation:
Alliance française de Londres regrets that fees can neither be refunded nor held in credit for a future course if you withdraw after a course has started. There will be no partial refund for classes not attended by the student for whatever reason. Alliance française de Londres cannot accept responsibility for changes in student circumstances that may prevent them from attending their courses. However, if we receive written notification of your decision to cancel the course at least one week before the course has started, a full refund will be given less a £50 administrative fee. If notice is given between one week and the start of the course a £75 administrative fee will apply.

Postponement:
You may postpone taking a course if given before the course starts. For notice more than a week ahead your fees will be held as a credit for a future course, however a £30 administrative fee will apply. If notice is given between one week and the start of the course a £50 administrative fee will apply. The credit will be held for the following session only (which will have to be topped up to enrol). No credit or refund can be given once the course has started.

Alliance française de Londres reserves the right to cancel a course before the start of the course when there are insufficient student numbers. In that case only fees will be refunded in full. After the course has started Alliance française de Londres reserves the right to close a course should attendance fall below a certain level or for circumstances beyond its control. Fees will then be refunded pro rata.

At the start of of a course students should report to reception 10 minutes before the class begins.
