Alliance française de Londres is an official exam centre for the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industrie (CCIP- Paris Ile-de-France). You can study for and sit an exam at our school.


 

1) Test d’Evaluation du Français (TEF) +TEFaQ (Québec)

The TEF is an internationally recognised way of evaluating your skills in French and used by employers, universities and business schools in France such as INSEAD. The test establishes and provides for a certificate that reports the applicant’s level. It is valid for one year.

This section measures a candidate's written ability to convey information, use past tenses, and express a point of view with arguments to defend it.

Oral expression

This section consists of two brief interviews with an examiner in which the candidate asks questions about a service and then discusses a point of view on a subject given to them by the examiner.

The TEF is also recognised by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as proof of French language proficiency for people wishing to immigrate to Canada. A good knowledge of the language is now necessary as the level required has been increased. Level B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages has become the minimum threshold from which points are attributed for knowledge of oral and written French (two points can be attributed for knowledge of writing/reading).

TEFaQ – Test d’Evaluation de Français adapté au Québec
TEFaQ, which is an adaptation of the regular TEF, is required by the Ministry of Immigration Québec for a visa application. A certificate of results is issued and valid for one year.
The TEFaQ consists of 2 main sections:

The test is NOT suitable for candidates with only a basic knowledge of the language and candidates should not enrol without having attained an upper intermediate level of French. Candidates now need to have at least a B2 level in order to obtain points.

Candidates for TEFaQ can now select which part of the test they want to sign for (listening and/or speaking) They can as well sign up for one of the optional test (writing & reading) in order to gain more points.

Alliance Française de Londres may have to refuse registrations if a particular test is oversubscribed. If there are insufficient registrations a test may be cancelled.

2) Business and Legal French

We are also an official centre for professional exams such as Diplôme de français professionnel juridique B2 (DFP juridique B2 - previously known as "Certificat Français Juridique") or Diplôme de Français Professionnel Affaires (DFP Affaires B2-C2). These are exams for which candidates need knowledge relating to the field of interest such as law and business. The exams assess writing, speaking and listening skills in a professional context and are recognised the world over. There is more information about these exams here: CCIP
